U17/U19/U23/Sr Competitive
Benefits: This program is for competitive rowers in the U17/U19/U23/Senior Categories. The spring program is for all High School athletes rowing out of SNRC. Summer and Fall programs are for anyone who wants to be part of the South Niagara Competitive rowing program. Training will include both sculling boats (1x/2x/4x/4x+) and sweep boats (2-/4+/8+). You will be contacted by the Registrar to confirm eligibility prior to activating the membership. Coaches will advise athletes of start dates and training times for each season. Athletes will train 6 days per week and Sundays will be the designated day off. Athletes will be divided into training pods based on water rowing ability. Coaching in English only.
Safety: Participants will be coached by experienced coaches in a fully-equipped motorized coach boat, including life jackets, and other safety equipment. All coaches have proper police background checks. For Spring programs a swim test is required and arranged with high schools through SNRC. For summer and fall programs a swim waiver is required for rowers under the age of 18 and will be sent out to participants via email once registration is completed and prior to the camp week or alternatively provide proof of a swim test or of Bronze Medallion/Cross or better. Swim tests should include front roll entry, tread water 1 min, swim 50m and putting on a PFD.
Regatta Fees: Spring regatta fees are through respective schools and based on their individual schedule. Summer/Annual fees are inclusive of Summer Regatta Fees as note in the fee schedule. Fall regatta fees are not included (other than Head of the Welland). Unless noted otherwise, fees are to be paid based on participation and billed directly to the athlete by SNRC or paid via the appropriate RCA program registration under SNRC.

Frequency: 6 Sessions per Week. Spring/Fall will be Mon-Fri @ 3:30-5:30 pm. Summer will be Mon-Fri @ 6:00-8:00 am. Spring/Summer/Fall will be Saturdays @ 7:00-9:00 am.

- Select “Join a Program”. Choose “Ontario” and “South Niagara Rowing Club” from the drop-down menus.
- Select the appropriate program/s, check the dates to ensure that you are joining the correct one. If you have difficulty we are here to help! Please contact the South Niagara Rowing Club Registrar by clicking here.
- Create an account. Parent/Guardian will need to register for youth athletes. Use the parent/guardian email and phone number however register using the youth athlete’s name and birthdate etc. (or Log-in if you are returning from a previous year)
- Complete on-line registration and accept the waivers.
- Methods of payment:
- Credit card payment using weblink via Rowing Canada on-line registration system.
- Cheque made payable to South Niagara Rowing Club. Drop off payment in mail box located outside of the office portable prior to first day
Once the Registrar is in possession of on-line rowing program registration confirmation and program fee payment, you will receive an email stating that you are registered in the program. Athletes not registered with the SNRC and Rowing Canada are not permitted to be on the water. Any athlete with unpaid fees from previous sessions will have to make payment before being allowed on the water.
Masters Development:
This program is designed for adults moving from the Rowing Development program who are looking to eventually progress into the Masters Competitive racing program.
Prerequisite Master Development: Proficiency in rowing a single in all weather conditions and have previous competitive rowing experience such as U17/U19/U23/Senior/Masters or advancing from Masters Development on the recommendation of your coach. Please contact the Registrar for any questions regarding the program or athlete eligibility. Coaching in English only.
Benefits: Training will primarily focus on sculling boats (1x/2x/4x) with some limited training in sweep boats (2-/4+/8+). Coaches will be contacted by the Registrar to confirm eligibility prior to activating the membership. Athletes will be divided into training pods based on water rowing ability.
